This is the second stage of cat decay. If you're just tuning in, we are discussing a dead orange cat. The first installment of this two-part series can be found here.

The first interesting thing I noticed was the way in which the cat appeared to be nothing more than a leg. I was not convinced with my dead cat findings, and therefore continued on with my research, when 30 feet away, i stumbled upon the following piece of information:

This appears to be the rest of what's left of the cat. A fly was enjoying a meal of cat at the time of this photo. It is quite clear, based on empirical evidence, that this cat is most certainly dead. This opinion is based on the fact that the systems of the body have ceased their natural function of preserving the shape and form of the cat, and we think this is why it deteriorated. I am puzzled, however, by the fact that this cat, supposedly being dead, traveled over thirty feet, leaving behind one paw. Is it the paw that continues walking, even after leaving the body? So far, the verdict of the cat being dead is tentatively accepted in theory, although these recent findings merit further investigation.
