PROJECT MANAGER

(c.�45,000 + Car + Benefits)

ROLE:

To project manage the delivery and implementation of mission critical changes to BACS business. BACS is committed to a professional approach to project management and operates a company wide process for managing projects strongly based on PRINCE2.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

You will be expected to play a key role in the future developments of BACS existing and new systems. The role will require the post holder to act as a mentor, providing advice and guidance to staff less experienced in project management. All project managers are also expected to play an active role in improving the company�s processes for project management.

The candidate will be expected to be experienced in the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation.

All BACS Project Managers are given the opportunity to obtain formal Project Management qualifications.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The candidate will be expected to be experienced in managing the development and implementation of high-availability systems and integrating third-party software products into solutions. The candidate should be able to demonstrate that he/she has experience of achieving results through effective team leadership and through the planning, control and formal review of IT projects.

The candidate must be flexible, adaptable, highly motivated and a good communicator. He/she should be used to managing, and working with, large and small mixed discipline teams, and must have experience of dealing with a wide range of internal and external customers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Mandatory:


• 3 years experience of managing full IT Development lifecycle
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of a project management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2
  
  
  Desirable:
  
  
• experience in a staff line management role
  
• managing projects in the financial services sector
  
• background in IT Development technical roles e.g. analyst, designer, programmer.
