We have the following vacancy at our Demon Internet HQ in Finchley for a System Administrator to be responsible for the day to day administration and maintenance of customer key application services. These include: Electronic Mail, Usenet News, DNS, Web Hosting and Fax to Email, as well as ancillary services such as Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and Batch FTP.

As part of the team the successful applicant will demonstrate an excellent set of technical and problem-solving skills in addition to being an enthusiastic and friendly team player.

Your aim will be to ensure that Demon’s customer base receives the best possible services on a 24 x 7 basis.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
Strong UNIX administration skills (eg Solaris, *BSD, etc)
Good knowledge of hardware (eg Intel (i386), sparc)
Experience of configuring and maintaining UNIX based services including Web servers, Mail servers, etc
A good understanding of TCP/IPThe ability to write and understand advanced Perl/shell scripts
