n i n t h/english/waller.elizabethso umm. i dont know. a lot of people really really like her... im not exactly sure why? so you might also. i thought she was okay, but im a little fed up with people who overuse sarcasm because that's just annoying. well anyways, this class is very structured. for each book that you read, there is one project, one movie, one essay, and one test. the projects are LAMENESS, take my word for it. like for fahrenheit 451, which isnt that great of a book to start with, you have to do a censorship poster... where you choose a book thats censored and make a poster out of it. another project is the shakespeare project, where you choose anything related to romeo and juliet and then find a way to present it. it's actually a pretty easy project, but at the time it's kind of stressful. hm so what else. oh, theres outside reading, where you write index cards that summarize the book. im really glad that she used this system last year, because uhh in the year my brother had her, they had to go after school for "book talks". so this isnt so bad. some people get amazingly competitive about book page numbers. my advice-- dont bother. e i g h t h/english/peterson.wendyumm. well her class wasnt overly hard. AR is a pain in the butt though... basically, pick your books out carefully and keep reading. like you usually want to aim for either points, book level, or number high and the other stuff lower to an 8 ish. so you can focus on one area and you'll probably get an A- in AR. or an A, depending on your outside readling list. they shouldnt be too hard to sort, you dont need to spend forever on it. aim for the required reading sections sometimes, but otherwise just sort it. whatever. okay besides AR, she has this thing for CALL OF THE WILD. call of the wild obsession. when you're first reading it through, just mark down every word that you think is sort of not familiar. every word. go through and just copypaste definitions to it from m-w or dictionary.com. she has this thing for SUPERFLUOUS and also for this other word i forgot what it was... but it means "prominent" i think. there's the multiple choice test with T F questions and stuff like that, and knowing which character matches which description. what's the center of business in the north? something liek that. umm.. and then theres the essay question, which has to do with the cotw project. every period gets a different essay. to write it, just follow what she says on the prompt, it makes it a lot easier to do it. theo ne i did the prompt was basically an outline, and i just followed it. i got an A-! :]. oh she also likes subject verb agreement and finding the subject. yeah. her tips is to cross ou the prepositional phrases, and i guess that works. sure. not much homework in this class, actually.-pinky s e v e n t h/english/winget.patriciahehhe.. since she was the teacher of leadership she sometimes also lectured aobut health stuff.. like the whole period one day was spent explaining about ectasy, its effects, seratonin, and stuff.. we kept asking questions to stall. she also called in this person to talk to us about suicide or something. sheez. well. shes pretty leniant about rules.. like she talks on her cellphone/eats herself in class and so do we. not the cellphone part, but the eating. its funny.. like everyones sneaking candy/chips into their mouths really obviously but she doesnt say anything. -_- and people have their drinks out and she doesnt say anything either. she doesnt actually teach that much english.. umm.. we might read something from the grammar book.. and do some vocab lessons.. read some stuff in the literature book.. much ado about nothing. thats it.-pinky kybilricks: winget we hav noooo hmk kybilricks: and she smiels a lot woolbright.tammykybilricks: woolbrite is scary |
