| This was a concept album imitating something close to the likes of Set Fire to Flames -mixed collective of musicians and voluntary altered states of mind while recording..Three musicians, from Opion Somnium, drone group Olio Oliva, and electro-accustic group Real People, went out and spent 3 days in a tiny cottage on a vinyard out in the middle of nowhere New Mexico and recorded a half-hour ep. The idea was to totaly isolate ourselves and make music and function under levels of little to no sleep and varying levels of substances and/ or the lack there of (food), but the result however, what one might expect if Sigur Ros were to run into the Beatles (but withought the vocals of course). Upright piano, trumpet, bass, bowed guitar, singing saw, synth, violin, crudely made percussion sets, and of course, field recordings which give an impression of the surrounding area the members where in at all hours of the day were all melded together into a moody but surprisingly pop touched ep, with five movements. Recorded August 3rd - 6th 2003. |
