'Feathers from Corvus Corax' is probably the most organically made album ever recorded by Opion Somnium. With six large tracks, each of which have at least two movements or more, the album spans over 70 minutes. With more of an emphasis on live drums and piano segments mingling with a more guitar driven sound, there can definitely be heard the influence of Godspeed You Black Emperor! and Mogwai and such.
Still using the melodic, and moody drone concepts of earlier albums, this album takes the largest variety of instruments yet used by somnium, and plays each in an organic fashion to create huge, thick, layered sound of sadness and epic proportions. |
