| MOVIE RANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a DVD/VHS player, and I want to record back-ups in case the DVD's ever get scratched up, broke, lost, etc. I was able to back up Eurotrip, and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, but I couldn't back up the family guy episodes, or Pirates of the Carribean. Here is how they get you to pay more. Say you own Pirates of the Carribean, like me, and something happens to it, not like me(YET!), and you want to create a back up copy in case something goes wrong. Well now, the companys can't allow you to create a copy of their movie now can they! They will lose money by me recording a backup copy to VHS! And, think about this, say something happens to it, I don't have a back up copy, well it looks like I have to BUY ANOTHER COPY OF THE SAME MOVIE, which is F&%#IN BULL$H!T!. All they these movie companys are are money hungry sons of b!tch@s. A movie makes over $400 million dollars and they are worried that they will lose money from people making a back up copy!!!!!! In the old days there were only vhs's, small machines that you can take the copy-protector out of and make copies. We can't exactly take a DVD apart now, can we?! Now I know what you may be thinking, what about all of those people out there who copy the movies and sell them for a profit? Or even if they hand it out for free? I don't support them, they should be punished to the full extent of the law. I make copies of my movies that I paid for in case something happens to the original!! If you believe it what I have just said, send me an email. If I get enough emails, I will try to put together a petition. The petition will say: 1. No device can be installed to stop a machine or person from copying/recording. 2) A person is allowed to make copies as long as they keep the copies and do not sell them, or copy them with intent to sell or give away. I hate what is going on now, it is wrong. Just so they can make more money. Meanwhile we the average people have to buy expensive DVD burners and equipment and copy it illegally, and then the DVD companies upgrade the devices and it won't work anymore, and thus meaning we need to buy another DVD copier!!! |
