All we hear today is the President pushing his tax cut plan.

I think it contains some redeeming qualities.

Such as repealing the death tax and the marriage tax.

However, the rest is highly questionable.

The president says the government has trillions in taxpayer money that
he wants to give back to us. The truth is he is hoping that over the
next ten years our economy will remain the same or better. He is hoping that everyone who is now working will remain working and paying taxes. He is hoping our nation has no emergencies, no floods, no drought, no hurricanes, ie: no need for disaster relief. He is hoping we forget about improving education and law enforcement, safe work environments, clean air, water, etc. That way in ten years we may accumulate trillions extra.

This money isn�t a reality yet! Look at it this way - How secure are you
that your employer will still be in business in a few years? Would you
bet your house on that? Your car? Your child�s education? Your
retirement? If you were secure with �future money�, you might pay down your credit cards or arrange for more insurance in case you got hurt. I know I would.

What would the average family of four do with $1600.00? This is Not cash being handed to you; it is cash you don't have to take away from some other bill to pay your taxes. This will in no way allow me to stimulate the economy. The president's plan sounds really good if you say it fast enough. The truth is, it is designed to make us think we are "beating city hall". The president seems to think we Americans are ignorant. He seems to think we will sit back and let our future go down the drain. I, for one, do not want to sit back.

I believe we should leave the �EXPECTED� money alone for a while. Make sure it will still be there. I believe we should pay down our national debt, shore up social security, improve Medicare, cut spending, step up our domestic disaster relief, and not have to raise taxes in a couple of years to pay for his political window dressing.
