| REPLAY TOOLKIT Following are innovations I use with Replay baseball: Home A. Pitcher Fatigue These rules were designed to help achieve the targeted 5% B-grade usage projected by Replay. The tension of deciding whether to leave a starter in to try for a shutout after he's fatigued adds a lot of fun. The max BF grades also prevent the super-extended appearances that can occur without them. 1. Starter fatigue: - Automatically fatigued after 5 runs of any kind - Maximum of BF+5 before automatic flip to B (regardless of shutout) 2. Reliever fatigue: - Add 2 to BF rating if enter before/during bonus inning (and ignore regular bonus rules) - Maximum of BF+3 before automatic flip to B B. Rare Play Chart Refer to third die on 3/57 play to determine if a rare play occurs. This chart reallocates the frequency to occur more often with runners on base (when rare plays more frequently occur) and less ofen with bases empty. Empty Runners On 1 Foul Foul 2-3 RP RP 4-5 Gb to P RP 6 Gb to P Gb to P I also use a trailing runner advancement chart that is a bit different than the one posted on the innovations page, and I use an injury bank chart as well. Let me know if you also want this info. What the hey, I've come this far, I'll post it and then I can simply upload the text of this post to my site! C. Trailing Runner Advancement Chart Use for 3b coach plays on a single with runners on 1 & 2 or 1, 2 & 3 1. If lead runner's roll >=safe chance (out or safe on close play) - Roll vs trailing runner's speed - Higher = hold - Equal/Lower = advance 2. If lead runner's safe chance = XB or if roll < safe chance (easily safe) - Roll vs trailing runner's speed - 6 = Out - Otherwise (1-5): - Higher = hold - Equal/Lower = advance D. Injury Bank Causes injuries to occur less frequently for longer duration. Refer to 3rd die on 2-1 roll: 1 - Misses normal # of games, injury effective with next game (as usual) 2 - Misses 2x # of games, injury banked 3 - Misses 3X # of games, injury banked 4/5 - No injury 6 - No injury, but must sit out of starting lineup and pinch-hit next X games, where X = Actual PH appearances divided by 3 The #6 result on injury bank is really for season replays, to get realistic pinch-hitting from guys who otherwise would only start. It can simply read as 'no injury' if desired. E. Opponent's Lineup Chart To check for players on the opposing squad that may need to be rested, roll one die and consult the chart below. For each position indicated, roll two dice and refer to the "Rest?" Chart below, cross-referencing the player's 2-1 square to determine if rest is required. EXAMPLE: Initial roll of "1" indicates C, SS and RF may need to rest. Check all three using chart below. Assume C has a 31 at the 2-1 square. A roll of 11-52 means he should rest. Then roll for SS and RF. 1 C, SS, RF 2 P, 1B, CF 3 2B, 3B, LF 4 C, 2B, CF 5 P, SS, LF 6 1B, 3B, RF 2-1# Rest? 2-1# Rest? 21 11-66 36 11-36 22 11-66 37 11-33 23 11-65 38 11-32 24 11-63 39 11-25 25 11-63 39^5 11-23 26 11-62 39^4 11-21 27 11-56 39^3 11-16 28 11-55 39^2 11-14 29 11-53 39^1 11-12 30 11-53 43 11-14 31 11-52 43^5 11-13 32 11-45 43^4 11-13 33 11-44 43^3 11-12 34 11-42 43^2 11 35 11-41 43^1 11 F. Other Miscellaneous Rules 1. Runner must try to advance whenever possible (third base coach, col 6 singles, etc) before the 7th inning. This helps to get more OF assists. 2. 1/45 play scored as 1-6 force (instead of L1), then check for DP as usual. |
