THE LAST MILE
7'
Together with Shikari & Los Asesinos De La Superficialidad (with whom they share
members), The Last Mile is part of a new wave of inspiring, passionate Groningen bands,
Their lyrics show similar anarchist beliefs to Los Asesinos De La Superficialidad, and
they have a consistent DIY approach that seems to manifests itself in every band
from that city. Musically they are on the heavier side of the hc-punk spectrum.
References to bands like His Hero Is Gone & From Ashes Rise can definitely be
made, but this release also shows a very distinct late 90's "Bremen
hardcore" influence, as in the sound that was once defined by Per Koro records.
Marga & me initially planned to be careful with money and not get involved in this
release. That changed quickly when we heard the actual recordings...
Continuing in the spirit of cooperation, this was done in collaboration
with the amazing De Graanrepubliek & UPS records!

Reviews
Bacteria: "A whole mouth full, but it's worth it. Great and solid
release on Graanrepubliek and Opiate records"
His Hero Is Gone u.a. Highlights des Genres verinnerlicht hat. Gute sozialkritische Texte und ein aufwendig gestaltetes Layout machen diese Single zu einem uberdurchschnittlichem Release."
Busted Head: "Heavyasshit Dutch metallic darkness, spreading lethal
riffs and insane double bass drum destruction like a crazed Slayer
Growling, snarling, killing!!"
Friends forever: "Dark, heavy hardcore from the netherlands. imagine a
more brutal tragedy & then get ready to get your asskicked!!!"
Noseke: "Brutal EmoHC like ENVY"
Pogonophobia: "Absolutely killer dutch hardcore in the vein of His Hero
is Gone, Uranus or Tragedy. If you like your hardcore fast and powerful,
this if for you! The cover and packaging is also very nice! Awesome!!"
React With Protest: "Awesome, combines the intensity and heavyness of metal/grind with the sound of melodic crust bands like his hero is gone ... dark, emotional, politcal and beautiful package to top it off!"
Profane Existence: "The Last Mile play heavy hc-punk, with elements of the current US crustscene and late 90s Per Koro/Bremen heavy crusty hc-punk, and intelligent anarchist lyrics. This 7" has really good packaging too!"
