This last book by Ophiel, does explain the process of the earlier seven books, how they came about, and even how he began writing them. This odd little book contains more information about the actual process of acquiring occult knowledge than the others, or at least, attempts to index his method and show the student how to learn.

In his search for occult knowledge, early on Ophiel learned techniques for 'astral' projection. With these skills, he noticed certain attributes of the experience, tied a few knots in his mind, and began to develop techniques to explore these inner worlds. As he says on numerous occasions, all that there is are the innner and outer worlds, which are bound together intimately, even though these connections evade our outer awareness. That is, unless we develop inner plane senses so we are able to investigate and function on the inner planes.

His first book, "The Art & Practice of Astral Projection," which is still in print, mapped out four techniques for learning how to project onto/into the inner worlds. Once Ophiel developed methods for teaching others how to do this (in the book), he set about writing books that gave instructions for what could be done with these new inner experiences, techniques he hoped his studenst would turn into solid results.

First off, Ophiel explains how his view of the inner worlds differs from most organized relgious views, particularly the half of 'it' that is deemed evil. He paints a picture of a process, white and black, that work in conjunction to create this whole 'thing' we have, that results in our living on the physical plane. This is the end result of a step-down process of the elemental powers gradually 'hardening' and manifesting on the physical plane. There, too, is the journey back up. Anyone familiar with rudmentary Caballa [sic] concepts will understand this procedure. Pure spiritual force/substance, unmanifest and inclusive of all possible potential (in a similiar way that a plant seed contains a full-grown tree-to-be, sort of) works on down to the physical plane through a series of ordered steps (ten steps, in the case of the Caballa) and manifests as frozen elemental forces here on the physical plane. The process is reversed as matter seeks spritual reunion. Of course, this is over simplifying a simple process that unfortunately is quite complex.

Ophiel noticed in his early projecting work a Light, an inner light, that evaded his inner investigation. He noted this light was the same light that lit up his dreams, and the same light behind any inner vision. He equated the experience with chasing it and watching it duck behind corners. Eventually, with more familiarity with the inner processes, he found he could catch brief glimpses of this inner Light, and his other books are an attempt to tell others how they can manipulate this 'stuff' to better their own lives. As he points out, once directed, the 'stuff' will manifest down here in a natural process that has no regard for what we regard as 'good' or 'evil.'
