The Opera Chorus brought life to the performance, as did Catherine Cook as a vivacious Flora-(Review La Traviata)
Catherine Cook (Suzuki)
The San Francisco Chronicle exclaims Mezzo-Soprano Catherine Cook, singing the role of the maid Suzuki for the first time, made a touching figure, at once deferential and strong-willed Veronica Villarroel (Cio-Cio san)
The Cincinnati Post wrote that she "more than once recalled the great mezzo Marilyn Horne: her luxurious voice showed remarkable flexibility." Her exciting characterizations garner acclaim as well.
Catherine Cook (Tisbe) sang attractively and created characters that were clearly
distinct.

Catherine Cook sang Berta very well indeed.(Review Il Barbiere di Siviglia)
The lead animals are the Badger (Peter Strummer) whom the Vixen dispossesses by fouling his den, the Dachshund and Woodpecker (Catherine Cook), the Cock (Ann Panagulias) whom the Vixen neuters, biting off his codpiece.(Review-The Cunning Little Vixon)

OPERA DATABASE
The Forester was sung by Thomas Allen and it was he who held the various parts of the opera together with his dark timbered, robust voice. Allen was the lone figure who related to everything in the story. Catherine Cook was a comically downtrodden but lustrous voiced dachshund, Anthony Laciura a sonorous but mysterious school master and bass Gregory Stapp a resonant but embittered parson, while Bozan Knezevic was a smoky toned, evil minded poacher. Judith Christin, who always creates an interesting character, was a warm voiced, credible forester's wife./ Review
Rounding out the cast are Patrick Carfizzi as Don Magnifico, Earle Patriarco as Dandini, Tamara Wilson and Catherine Cook as the wicked stepsisters Clorinda and Tisbe, and Nikolay Didenko as Alidoro. Edoardo Mller conducts the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra and Chorus./ Review-2007 Joyce DiDonato Stars in La Cenerentola at Houston Grand Opera
