Almost since the beginning of time, man has been separated from God because of sin. We try to change this through our good works and our morality. We think that if were good enough, some day God will let us into Heaven.
But it doesnt work that way. Galatians 2:16 tells us that a man is not justified by observing the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. The only true righteousness that we can have is through faith. Does God work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you have heard?(Galatians 3:5) Just observing the law is not going to get us anywhere. We need to turn to God and have faith in Him.
And just listen to the amazing things that can happen when you have faith in God! The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are filled with instances of Jesus healing people because of their faith in him. For example, in Matthew chapter 9, a sick woman came to Jesus and touched the edge of his cloak, thinking that if she only just touched him, she would be healed. Jesus saw her and said, Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you. (Matthew 9:20) Just by having faith that Jesus could heal her, this woman was healed!
You can do anything when you have faith! You can even move mountains. (Matthew 17:20) In John 14:12, Jesus tells us that anyone who has faith in him can do what he had been doing. With faith, you can be healed! Matthew 21:22 says that if you believe, you will receive for anything you ask for in prayer.
So what are you waiting for? Break free from the prison that is the law and find true righteousness in Jesus Christ. Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. (Galatians 3:23)
