ThursdayJune 28

Wow. Today has been the MOST AWESOME day! So many cool things happened.

We started out the day by riding the bus to a church about an hour away. What a difference from

the place we went yesterday! I went inside to use the bathroom and the only roof there was was

made out of cardboard boxes and pieces of wood.  The floors were only dirt.

We did our drama in the middle of a soccer field that was made of cement. Everything went

wrong. The tape would'nt start, and when it did, it started in the wrong place. In the middle of the

drama, the tape got messed up and started playing in English! It fixed itself, but it was still

discouraging. I wanted to cry after that drama. I was glad that we were going to take a break and

eat lunch. Peanut butter and jelly always makes me feel better.

At the drama site, there had been hundreds of children who had just had just been let out of school.
We played games and talked with them and they were enamored by us. When it came time for us

to leave, they followed us! I felt like one of the Beatles, trying to run from huge crowds of

screaming girls. The kids even asked for our autographs!

We went back to the church for lunch and had to lock the doors and close the curtains because the
kids wouldnt leave, and they were watching us thorugh the windows!

We didnt have PBJ for lunch. The people at the church made all of us chicken sandwhiches! They

were so hospitable. They made sure everything was perfect for us.

After lunch we began praying for people to heal.  We prayed for a man whose legs werent aligned

and it was giving him back problems. He was healed after we prayed for him. Another man whose

vision was blurry got out a Bible and read it it after our prayer. We prayed for the pastor of the

church, who was blind in one eye, and he began to see light!

I've never prayed so hard in my life. I poured out everything I had to God and I was exhausted

afterwords. Many more people came to us to be healed and they were. We spent the whole day at

the church, praying over people. God totally lifted my spirits, ecspecially when the pastor borught

out his guitar and we all sang  together, in English and in Spanish! It was so cool!

No one wanted to leave but we had to get back for dinner. Everyone from the church followed us

out to the bus.

For dinner that night we were allowed to go out into the city to eat wherever we wanted to. I went
with everyone from my youth group, Beth, Kevin, Wayne, and two of the translators, Francisco,

and Joseph. It was soooo much fun!

We asked the translators where was a good place to eat and they led us to the bus stop. No, not to

eat, but to get a ride across town to this really cool place called Lraco Mar. It was like a mall, only

outdoors and it was right on the coastline of the ocean. It was kind of Americanized, but that was

nice. I got to have pizza! For desert we had Peruvian ice cream. They have really good ice cream

here! I tried to call my parents form the pay phone but once again they werent home.

There are these places in the city where you can go and use the internet. They'rem just rooms with
a bunch of computers that you can use. I sent an email to everyone at home.

When we got back, I actually got a hot shower!!

"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons, speak
in new tongues;they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it

will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." -Mark
