Reality TV Show Comin to Trailer Park
One a the major television networks is considerin filmin a reality show down to the trailer park.

The network folks plan to follow folks around while they go about their daily bizness. Fer example, they will follow Bosephus Rockafeller to the dump; Bubba J to the army navy, where he works; and well-known Elvis impersonator Little King Shark when he rehearses his shows.

Bubba J's wife, Thelma Jo, done said she hopes the tv folks don't want to film her while she's bakin none a her award-winnin desserts. Festus Joe Shark said he hopes they don't catch him doin nuthin that'll git him took off the welfare.

There ain't been no date set fer the start of filmin or when the program will be shown on the television, but inside sorces says the network wants it to compete with the popler CBS show "Big Brother."


Diner Fined Fer Violashuns
Popler local hangout The Diner was closed fer a spell on account a bein fined by the health department fer a number a violashuns.

Large Marge, a waitress down to the diner, done said she was shocked and awed when she learnt bout the fine. "Them health folks done said us waitresses don't warsh our hands enuff," she done said. "Well, sakes alive. We warsh our hands fore we start work and fore we leave. What more do they want?"

A cook feller who didn't want to be identifed by name done said he don't think it's none a the health department folkes bizness what he puts in his gravy. "Them health folks done said some a the fixin's I put in the gravy ain't fit fer human consumpshun," he done said. "Well, I ain't heard no complaints cept from the health folks."

Regler customer Bertha Mae Shark done said she weren't serprized by the violashuns. "Them waitresses is all the time tryin to give me decalfinated coffee stead a regler," she done said. "I ain't serprized that they try to pull the wool over other folkes eyes. ... But I won't stop goin down to the diner on account a the violashuns. Where else is folks in Opelousas County gonna go?"


Interior Decorator Wins Award
Local interior decorator Scooter Ray done won hisself a award fer his work on Curtains For the Cause.

Scooter Ray, along with Minnie Sue, Lita Fay and Tanqueray done started Curtains For the Cause right after September 11, 2001, to cheer up the families a troops that was sent over to Afghanistan. "When them families look out their windows thinkin' 'bout their boys overseas, they won't be so sad when they see the purty curtains 'round the windows," Scooter Ray done said back then.

When troops was sent over to Iraq, Scooter Ray started the project up again and had huge success. The group Honoring Our Men of Substance (HOMOS) noticed and give him the award.

"I don't reckon I ever been prouder a nuthin in my life," Scooter Ray done said. "Maybe now them 'Tradin Spaces' folks'll take me serious and hire me fer their show. I might not know everthin there is to know bout interior decoratin, but I know a could learn a lot from that there Vern feller."


Space Alien Expert Gits on TV
Award-winnin and world respected space alien expert Festus Joe Shark will be featured on a documentry on the SciFi channel.

Mr. Shark, who was named a space alien expert by the Space Alien Abduction Society, will talk bout the more'n 30 times space aliens done took him.

"I'm powerful happy and proud that them folks at the SciFi channel aksed me to talk bout them space aliens that I love so dearly," Mr. Shark done said. "I don't like to brag and whatnot, but I don't reckon there's no one who knows space aliens like I does."




Deaths

Roy Bob Llewellyn done got hisself killed when he was pickin up a possum on the side a the road. Police says he was bendin over to git the possum when a feller in a pick-up truck who had hisself a few too many PBRs swerved and hit Roy Bob. The feller is in the county jail waitin fer his trial. Roy Bob's wife Jo Ellen Llewellyn is powerful broken up. "First off, I done lost my Roy Bob. Then I didn't even git to keep the possum and it was fixin to be supper fer a week fer me and my 13 young'uns. It were a big possum."
Big Loser

Junie Alice Wilber was named Loser a the Year by Weight Watchers after she done lost 162 pounds in just 12 months. "I still gots a way to go to git to my goal," she done said, "but the hard part is over and I'm sure I won't have no trouble takin off the rest a the 343 pounds I got to lose." Junie Alice's husband Wilbur is powerful proud. "Won't be long fore I can git my arms round her agin," he done said.
Reunited
Calvin Floyd Shunk and his wife Billie Sue was happier'n pigs in slop when their long lost daughter Lucy Lou come home. She disappeared from down to the trailer park 4 years ago when she was 13. "She's all growed up now and we purt near didn't recanize her," Calvin Floyd done said. "But we knowed it was her on account a her twins look just like she done looked when she was a baby." Billie Sue done said their trailer will be a might crowded what with Lucy Lou and her five young'uns added to the six young'uns that was already there, but they'll find room somehow.
