WHY
I WANT TO BE YOUR REPRESENTATIVE
I want to represent hard working Americans. At present, they are
under-represented minority in this country. I want to give them a
voice our
Nation's Capital.
I know how hard it is for most folk to make ends at the end of the month. I
have that difficulty myself. I have worked in private corporations before.
The companies often only thought about the "bottom" line." Most of the
companies that I worked for did not have any pension plan. All of them had
medical insurance, but only for full time workers. The number of days of
sick leave was often limited. When times got rough and there was economic
slow down, workers were often laid without much notice and benefits were cut
off. Companies seldom never cut the Chief Executive Officers' salary or
benefits.
Now, I work in State government. The workers receive benefits, but they are
being cut back and even with the recent salary negotiations, salaries are
still non-competitive. It is the hard working State employees, not their
high paid bosses, that serve the taxpayers and key State offices running
properly. Yet, they never receive credit for a job well done. Who get it?
The bosses take all the credit.
Just like in private industry, our jobs are not secure. When the government
has a reduction-in-force, who get the reduction-in-force? The workers, of
course. The government never cuts down on the number of political
appointees. It is the appointees who are a burden for taxpayers. They
get
their "high three" but do not produce or provide any services for taxpayers.
I am a person of integrity, honesty, sincerity, and responsibility. I honor
American values. I am positive and like to take on challenges. I will serve
the Hawaii's people better than the politicians we have right now.
I know how government works and how private industry works. I know how to
cut cost by eliminating waste and excess and corruption and political
patronage.
I know what it's like to work for a living. I know how working people feel.
I can communicate with people, not just special interest groups. I am your
next-door neighbor, someone who can talk to, someone who will listen.. That
is why I want to be your voice in Washington.
