WHAT I WILL DO

Let me introduce myself. My name is Opassi J. White.  I am a candidate for the first Congressional district, which runs from Hawaii Kai to Waipahu.

I decided to run because the people of Hawaii deserve better.  I will represent you well in Congress.  I am a woman of integrity, sincerity and honesty, with good American values.

Hawaii has given me so much.  The people of Hawaii are decent and hard working.  I will be their voice. I will represent their hopes and dreams in Washington, D.C.

My first priority is the economy.  A stagnant economy increases many problems such as crime and drug use and can be the root of many social ills.

I will support budgets that promote fiscal responsibility and control spending.  I will not support increased taxes and deficit spending to pay for unnecessary programs.  I will examine each new program to make sure that it is really needed and will not increase costs to taxpayers.

People want to work; they want good paying jobs.  I am a hard worker; I support myself and I will support programs that invest in job training.

I also am concerned about corporate accountability.  New laws have recently been enacted.  I will be monitoring this area to prevent further deterioration to our economy.

We need to build a strong nation with a well-educated, secure citizenry.  We need to provide a secure future for our children and our families.  Together we can put the economy on the right track.

I stand firm on one major issue.  Our national security should be a priority for Congress.  We must win the war on terror and protect our nation.  Terrorists must be held accountable.

Strengthening family values is very important—not only to our nation, but also to our culture and our civilization.  We cannot afford the costs of broken families.  Even more, as a nation, we cannot afford to lose the future that families hold in their hands.  When we abandon our children we abandon our future.

With me what you see is what you get.  I have nothing to hide.  I have no hidden agenda.  When elected, I will be a force for change to strengthen our economy, our national security and our families.  I will represent the hard working people of Hawaii.  I will be your voice in the Nation’s Capitol.  I will work hard for Hawaii.
