Welcome to the Budoka no Jinsei School and Technique Guide! Here, we will answer all of your questions, such as "What the heck is a Fire Stance?" or "What does the Ki Ken look like?" Oh, and please don't try these at home. Many of them are either fake or dangerous.

All items on this list are in alphabetical order, based on the first word of the technique or school.

Alacrity


Alacrity is a vampire skill that allows one to atune one's body to a blade, and therefore blocking sharp objects with one's bare skin.




Boxing


This really should require no explanation: It's boxing, plain and simple.




Caster


Casters are an unusual projectile weapon that Jake Hazuki created. Casters come in a variety of numbers and uses.




Crane Kick


This technique was taken from "The Karate Kid." If used properly, it is impossible to block. The user lifts both arms out to the side, leaving the wrists dangling, and brings one leg perpendicular to the body, curling it. He then brings the other leg out to a head-height kick, sending the other leg down to support himself and snapping both arms down then back up for power.




Dai Ryu Satsu Ha


A Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha technique, the Dai Ryu Satsu Ha combines the power of fire and water to create a forceful whirl-wind in the shape of the dragon. It has moderate power compared with other techniques of the school, but requires precise, experienced handling.




Dobu no Kami Ha


The Dobu no Kami Ha is one of the most powerful techniques of the Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha, assuming it is used by the right person. It is used to dramatically increase one's battle aura by drawing on the energy of his excitement. When used, the user is engulfed by potent, green ki.




Earth Stance


This is one of the four stances of ninjutsu. It is used in situations where one must fight many, or must prevent passage. The user stands erect, arms hanging limply at his side. The eyes must focus on nothing. Techniques launched from the earth stance are brutal and are designed to disable or kill any assualter in minimal time. It draws power from the earth element and is based in the emotions of determination and ignorance.




Explosion Spell


This spell is what it sounds like; it causes an explosion.




Fire Stance


This is one of the four stances of Ninjutsu. The user spaces the feet shoulder length apart, one in front of the other. The forward-most foot faces forward, while the back foot faces to the side. The body is at a slight angle from the forward direction. The arms are crossed over the chest, fists facing upward, hind arm over forward arm. This stance is used for when a relentless charge is in order. It is associated with the element of fire and the emotions of anger and pleasure.

Force Field


The inhabitants of the alternate universe that the Budoka characters were pulled into use this device to create invisible "walls" of energy. As it is on a different dimensional frequency from the martial artists, their ki attacks pass right through them.




Goten Taiyou Houkudan


This is a ki beam of light, one of the techniques of Dragon's Cry Martial Arts.




Happy Yen Punch


The Happy Yen Punch is based on the tenents of motion, power, and knuckles. In otherwords, it's a strong punch given a fancy name.




Heaven's Wrath-Quake with Fear


Heaven's Wrath techniques are exclusively the power of demons- and Quake with Fear is one of the most powerful ones. It uses the pure rage that demons have inside of them, and increases that rage ten-fold with the fires of hell. The resultant inferno can melt through any known metal.




Heavy Fist


The Heavy Fist is a technique that boosts the users aura. It is fueled by stagnant emotions such as depression and loathing, and acts by transferring the ki of these emotions to the target. Visually, it looks as if dark light or shadows are flowing from the user.




Hogwarts


Hogwarts is the most prestigious school of magic among the secret world-wide civilization of magic. Only the most promising students are allowed to learn their magic at Hogwarts.




Horseback Stance


The horseback stance is based in karate, and differs little from the earth stance of ninjutsu. Feet both point forward, a little more than shoulder-length apart. Wrists are placed next to the waist, hands balled in fists. The horseback stance is for preventing an opponent to pass. It's element is earth and it is based in the emotions of determination and ignorance.




Jakaru Hi Revised: Energy Ripper

This version of the Jakaru Hi, a technique of Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha, uses the power of centrifugal force to gather the surrounding energy and redirect it at a target.




Jelly Filling Shockwave Fist


The Jelly Filling Shockwave Fist is identified by the unique purple ki that it emits. The key to this attack is isolating one's gluttonous energies and focus it all into one's fist.




Judo


Judo is an ancient Japanese martial art that has been translated into a sport in modern times. Judo still contains some powerful techniques, but somewhere in it's transformation it's ukemis became more suited to one-throw matches as opposed to continuous combat.




Kasumi Ken


This is a technique that boosts the speed of the user so much that it is nearly impossible to track their movements through a strict conservation of energy.




Kendo


The Japanese sport of fencing. Derived from kenjutsu, this sport has become quite popular amongst martial artists and samurai wannabes alike. Contrary to popular belief, this is not the actual fighting style used by the swordsmen of Ancient Japan, but let's just keep that between you and me.





Kenjutsu
The Japanese art of fencing. This is the combat style that the samurai used. It is very rare to find a school of actual kenjutsu now, but they do exist. Usually they are very selective in who they take on as students.




Ki Beam


This is one of the most simple ki techniques in existance. It uses plain, universal ki, which anybody can use with equal effect, to create a beam of energy. No emotions or elements are attached to this attack.




Laughter Spell


This is a spell that causes the target to laugh uncontrollably. It is generally used to distract one's attention or knock one off balance.




Perfect Dobu no Kami Ha


The Perfect Dobu no Kami Ha is a normal Dobu no Kami Ha, with the additional ingredient of extreme confidence.




Phaser

The phaser is a laser-like weapon used by the people of the alternate dimension the Budoka gang were transported to in Episode 2. Since it uses a different dimensional frequency from the martial artists, they have no way of blocking it. Gene Roddenberry owns this one.




Poison Strike


The poison strike is a technique of the Heavy Fist, in which the user injects his opponent with dark energy, slowly dissentegrating the victim's body.




Sen Ryu Boki


The Sen no Ryu Boki is a counterpart for the Tenshin Amaguriken. The user kicks with such rapidity that his legs aren't even visible to the untrained eye.




Shikei Ha


This is the technique that the unknown kendoist(Side Story 10) studies just before a major trauma of unkown portent occured in his life. Other than that, nothing is known.




Shinsei na Kyu


The Shinsei na Kyu is a pure ki technique of Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha. It appears as a ball of white light which yeilds to a searing white beam of pure ki.

Silence Spell


This spell is used to get the target to shut up, plain and simple. It's especially useful against annoying announcers.




Strength Spell


The Strength Spell gives a temporary boost of power to the user. This power can be used in many ways, including using it all in a single strike or using it over a period of time.




Summoning Spell


This spell can be used to bring various items to the user. The chances of the spell's success is dependant on the wizard's skill and the nearness of the object.




Taiyou no Renzoku Ken


This is a technique of the blade that involves charging one's weapon with ki and striking repeatidly at high speeds. Visually, the sword will glow and appear to become a blur as the user strikes.




Tatsu Ken


This is one of the Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha's ultimate technique. While it is similar to the Dobu no Kami Ha, it differs in that it relies on stored energy, turning the body into the embodiment of effeciency.




Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha


Tatsu no Toki Nokoe Ha is a little-known school of martial arts that holds many powerful techniques. It is handed down from generation to generation, taking on no non-familial students. For this reason, there are very few practitioners of this art.




Teleportation Spell


This is an advanced spell that allows the user to get from here to there in no time at all. It can take the form of either instant materialization, or it can be activated in a puff of smoke.




Tenshin Amaguriken


The Tenshin Amaguriken is the counterpart for the Sen no Ryu Boki. The user punches with such rapidity that his arms aren't even visible to the untrained eye.




Thunderbolt Aisatsu


The Thunderbolt Aisatsu isn't actually an attack, but a really cool way to introduce oneself to an opponent. After the user makes his introduction, a thunderbolt strikes either the ground behind the user, between the user and his opponent, or the user himself.




Tiger Stance


This stance is featured in pretty much every Japanese martial arts. For example, it is also one of the four Ninjutsu stances as the Water Stance. The user places his feet shoulder-length apart, putting one in front of each other at somewhat of an angle. The arms are bent so that the fingers face forward, and the hand are held palm-open, facing each other. This stance is a mix between defense and offense, and lies in drawing out an opening in one's opponent. It is based on the element of water and the emotions of flexibility and contentedness.




Transformation Spell


This is a spell usually used by wizards in physical combat. Basically, it allows the user to change from normal sorceror robes, not practical in such situations, into more useful attire. Such spells have been known to put the user in anything from a karate gi to a scuba-diving suit.




Two Swords One School


This is the kenjutsu style of the great Musashi Miyamoto. It is a deadly form in which the warrior uses one kodachi and one katana, and uses them with complete focus.




Ukemi


This is the art of falling in a manner that minimizes damage taken. In otherwords, rolling so that you don't break your tail bone when you screw up.




Ukemi Throw w/ Foot


This is an improvision technique used to counter a double-fisted punch. The user grabs both fists and using the opponent's force to fall into a back roll. One foot is used to toss the opponent into the air, the other prepared to recover from the roll.




Wandless Spells


All normal human wizards are require their wands to cast magic; strip one of his wand, and he is unable to use the simplist of spells against you. Only one group of beings is known to be able to use magic without wands, the Death Eaters. And one particular member of the Hogwarts student body...
