Dark Skies
Dark Skies:1

The club was dark and hot, a welcomed change from the cold and wind outside. The club was so packed that no one noticed the two groups making their way through the crowd. If anyone bothered to look, they would notice that two young ladies led the groups. The women exchanged words and the groups split up. As the one group moved into the crowd, the other group stayed on the sidelines. The four men in the group were discussing their plans when their leader interrupted them.

"I want you guys to do what you have to, then get home. Don't party tonight. Just get done, then take the one car and get home."

The man with wavy brownish blond hair looked concerned. "What's going on?"

The woman scanned the crowd and shook her head. "I don't know. I have a feeling that something is going to happen. We might be adding our sixth member tonight."

The four men agreed to finish up quickly and head straight home. As they moved into the crowd, the woman remained where she was. She could sense someone bad in the crowd. Her bright green eyes watched the people, trying to pick up any vibe that would give that person away.

Looking to her left, she saw a tall man with dark hair stumble out the door. As she watched, she saw another man, this one wearing an old baseball hat and about a hundred pounds overweight, follow the man that had just left. She picked up that certain vibe she had been searching for and, grinning, followed the men out the door.

Grasping the wall of a building, the vampire slowly made his way down the dark alley towards the building he had been hiding in for the past two weeks. The one drink he had had in the club shouldn't have been making him feel so dizzy. He was losing his strength fast and he didn't know what to do. A wave of dizziness washed over him and he stumbled. As her regained his balance, he felt someone come up behind him and press a knife against his side.

"Okay, pal. Don't make a sound and give me all your money and maybe Ill consider letting you live."

"I don't have that much on me. Just a few dollars."

The robber was so busy with his victim that he didn't notice the woman coming up behind him.

"You better have more than a few dollars on you or you wont live to see another day."

"Now, that's not very nice. Didn't your mother teach you any manners?"

The robber let go of his victim and turned towards the voice. He never saw it coming. With lightening speed, the woman reached out, grabbed the robber by his neck, and tossed him against the wall of the building. Watching him slide down the wall, she moved forward and picked him up by the front of his shirt. Pressing him against the wall, she leaned closer and hissed at him.

"You think this other man doesn't deserve to live another day? You're wrong. Its you that wont see another day." Leaning forward, she pushed his head to expose his neck. Opening her mouth, she sank her fangs into the robbers neck, letting the warm blood fill her mouth and her senses. The robber tried to fight, but soon gave up when he realized that the woman was stronger than he was. In a few minutes, the robber took his last breath and the woman dropped him to the ground. Staring at her victims body, she pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and lightly dabbed the corners of her mouth. Tuning around, she looked for the first man.

She found him crouched down behind some trash cans. Moving slowly, she walked over to him and knelt down in front of him. He backed up even further.

"Please...please don't hurt me", he whispered.

She looked at him and gave him a small smile. "If I was going to hurt you, I would have done it by now." She watched him raise his head and saw that he had beautiful green eyes. "Are you out here all by yourself?"

"Yes,"

"How long have you been out here on the streets?"

"Almost two weeks."

"Do you have any family? Anyone you could go to for help?"

He shook his head. "Not anymore. I can never go back."

Sighing, she leaned back on her heels. "You cant go back because you were turned, right?" He looked at her in surprise. "Don't look so surprised. I have a knack for telling which people are vampires."

He was still confused. "But, how did you know?"

She gave him a sly grin and opened her mouth. Her gums pulled back and he could see her fangs. Closing her mouth, she shrugged. "Lets just say I know first hand how to be a vampire and I can also tell that you were turned against your will. I can see it in your eyes."

"I was turned against my will. I didn't want it. After I was turned, these people showed up and killed the person that turned me. I tried to explain that I didn't want to be turned, but they wouldn't listen. I ran out of the house. They followed. I made it down here and hid in one of the abandoned buildings. They didn't find me."

She studied the man for a few minutes. She knew that her feelings earlier in the night had been right. This man was their sixth member. "Instead of staying here on the streets, why don't you come home with me? Another lady and I kind of take in stray vampires that have no place to go. Her and her brother have five in their group. I have four right now." She caught his wary look. "Its better than being here on the streets. You're a new vampire. There are many things you need to learn. My group and I can teach you if you'll let us." She held out her hand and waited for him to make his decision.

Realizing that this woman was right, he placed his hand in hers. "Okay. Ill take you up on your offer." She helped him stand up and wrapped his arm around her shoulders to help him keep his balance. Looking at his red hair savior, he remembered that she hadn't given him her name. "What's your name?"

"Angelica Mathison. My boys call me Angel." She saw the laughter in his eyes. "Yeah, I know its crazy to call a vampire Angel, but what are you going do?" He chuckled and she grinned. "Well, since you have my name, what's yours?"

"Kevin Richardson."

"Well, Kevin, welcome to your new life. Don't worry, you'll like it." Angel stated.

Helping Kevin as much as she could, Angelica lead him out of the alleyway and to her car. Once he was in the passenger seat, she climbed into the drivers seat and started the car. Maneuvering through the streets of Orlando, they were soon on their way home.
