4th demension love 2001

you kept me like a key you found.  what it was for, you didn't know, though i hung at your hip on a chain that made you look wanted and secure.  humor was your hat as the bill shaded your face and seriousness was too bright for your eyes.  your nothings were better than somethings to you, but your golden silence rusted into secrets and lies.  your many moods morphed back and forth like seasons though fall was a fault of mine.  because your heavy kisses weighed me to the ground unable to walk the line of reality as i fell too hard on scabby knees praying for a romantic moment that only came as often as a tear from your eye.  life with you did not exist for the present was never home.  my hopes and i rested in our future.  a demension you never cared to know.
there you are, bathing in the beauty of love
never knowing it could be so wonderful
gliding across snow and ice covered lakes
waving away the signs that read "be careful..."
Love's Progression '01

so this is how it feels to move on with your life
so this is how it came to be
who would have known that you'd be someone's wife
and be loved unconditionally

though telltale streaks of tears on your face
and the dull twinkle in your eyes
has revealed a past love and a long weary chase
that you've lost despite all of your tries
so don't look back, now that you're here
you're starting a brand new day
accept the fact that you had held him near,
made mistakes, then was pushed away

and suddenly another has come your way
a love that was frighteningly new
and this love did not promise only today
he has proposed a future too

so stop crying for a love you'll never own
you've been pledged a lifetime supply
wipe those tears and hurry home
turn around and say goodbye
...home...
plummeting down the deep rabbit hole you go
painful curiosity got the best of you
and you find yourself rich with selflessness
like a subservient puppy licking at love's shoe
there in that vast void of lover's delight
exploration turned to obsession from the very start
there were empty ones after uninhabited others
whose love has eated and drank from your heart
unknowingly, your dream has suddenly ended
their full bellies has knocked you tumbling over
unavoidable heartbreak has left you unbelievably lonely
painfully realizing all this time what love had in store
you've plucked off the petals that blinded your eyes
and you look toward the signs to tell you where to go
turning away in the shivering cold of loneliness
this time, the signs wave back, "i told you so..."
