Infield transportation costs on peat soil

  • The work rate of MALTRAK in infield transportation on peat soil varied from 2 to 6 t.km/h, depending on the soil bearing capacity and levelness of the machinery paths, and on the distance between the loading and unloading stations.
  • The cost of transportation based on a workrate of 4 t.km/hr is as shown in the FIGURE below.



ASSUMPTIONS

The following assumptions are made in the economic analysis :
  • The interest rate is 10% per annum
  • The life of machinery is 10 years
  • Tax, insurance and shelter cost is 3% of Purchase Price per annum.
  • Straight line depreciation
  • Repair & maintenance cost is 6% of Purchase Price per 100 hours.
  • Salvage value is 10% of Purchase Price.
  • Fuel cost = RM0.50/L
  • Fuel consumption is 4.8 L/h.
  • Lubricating oil, greases etc. = 20% fuel cost.
  • Labour cost = RM6.00/h
