The
Underclass Joke
The silver tongue dances, behind ivory gates.
The family drops tears, over interest rates.
The homeless lay motionless, forced to their fates.
Is this the uptopia, politics creates?
Stand up, you're an anti, a pessimists tool.
Stand back, you're an observer, where silence is rule.
Stand aside, you're an automaton, a sheep for a fool.
Tongue stuck in cheek now, forever the bond.
While the knowing stay mourning, too scared to respond.
They don't get the joke, when you laugh in their face.
They don't see the humour, when you blind with disgrace.
They don't get a voice, that can't be erased.
So pull another shroud, a vision of worse.
So offer them candy, and watch hunger disperse.
So play pied pipe, until they immerse.
While off go the poor, away in a hearse.
