| Kameradare's 5th anniversary was celebrated in Tulay Buhangin. Noel Aban & childhood sweetheart Lulu Kornejo tied the knot on Dec 26, 1987. Christmas Day is also Marilou M Manalang's birthday. Mar Magno's 1st job in the US was flipping burgers (graveyard shift). His knuckles were so cold & blue trying to wait for his bus ride. Wintertime can be really harsh in Chicago where he once lived. On the other side of the US, Oochie's first tedious job was being a waitress at Denny's Restaurant. Her most unforgettable experience was, serving 2 Pinoy gay couples who were telling some bedtime stories (in tagalog) not knowing that their server understands tagalog. Victor's dad & CSAngeles have the same birthday, Nov 22. April 15 as we know is the deadline for paying our taxes. It is also the birthday of 2 well-liked members, Ed San Juan & Richard See. On Feb 1987, some members joined in the fun in celebrating EDSA's People Power anniversary. When it was over, there were no public transportations available because of the millions of people that came to celebrate as well. And so from 9pm til midnight 4 Kameradare members endured the "walk of their lives," Jerry, Minda, Oochie & Victor. CSAngeles & Curing Sotto have been good friends most of their adult life. They have been co-teachers at Feati University since the late 60's. When Paul & Kitty got married, she & her mom made her wedding cake. Mrs Neri was their principal sponsor. The nuptials took place at Paco Park where Butch & Nanette also got married a couple of years later. When they had their first bundle of joy, Mar Macno (este Marc Magno) was the ninong but since he was already in the US, Oochie was his proxy. Abigail is still waiting for all the "missed" aguinaldos. A "jack of all trades," he finished mechanical engineering at De La Salle University, then became a pilot. In between careers, he was one of the pioneer members of Kameradare. He also became a professional photographer together with his partners at Photoconcepts not to mention a catering job with his wife & selling Barclay products & stocks. Did I mention he's a genius in the darkroom & digital imaging? And of course, the other gift that Jun Dangoy has is his Karaoke golden voice! Andrea Tan, according to Kameradare's Guinness book of records, is the most travelled member, having seen the world a number of times at a very young age. |
