Andrea Tan

O:
what have you learned from kameradare.

A: loads!  that there are good photographers and there are great photographers.  there are funny ones, shy ones & loud ones as well.  but no matter what kind they are, you can be sure that you are in good company.  aside from picking up lots of photo tips from mrs angeles, william, jun, lyndon, benjie, phoebe, rosario, romy, rod, noel, richard & the others, you never really stop learning.  there's always room for improvement & that you can always make it to the top 10 (esp if there are only 10 entries!).  we can always type, edit, layout & print the newsletter in a few minutes before the sunday meeting. (grabe!) palaging photo finish, itanong mo pa kay phoebe!

O:  you have travelled to so many places.  which one made an impact on you & why?

A:  for international, it would be nepal being my 1st solo backpacking trip.  it triggered a series of other trips & heightened my love for travel like a plague.  nepal as a tourist destination has a lot to offer.  there's a vast array of what you can do & see there.  the surrounding himalayan ranges, lots of historical & religious monuments, loads of hiking trips at the foot of mt everest, safaries, grasslands, terrain region, mountain resorts, unique countryside villages, spiritual quests, elephant rides, white water rafting, endless trekking opportunites, as well as shopping & eating.  i found the whole trip overwhelming in terms of its spiritual, cultural & environmental diversity.  i'm sure other parts of the world have a list of what makes them unique & special.  the bottomline is the experience & personal interaction on each trip makes it worthwhile.

O: where do you see yourself 10-15 years from now?

A:  if my funds permit, i would still be travelling & still having the usual 9 to 5 job.

O:  what's your favorite color?

A:  i like seeing blue.  i also like bright colors like red as accents.  i prefer wearing black & white.

O: what kind of cameras do you have?

A:  i have a nikon fm2 with 28 mm lens.  currently, i'm using an instamatic ricoh camera with manual aperture selection.

O:  can you give us 1 photo tip?

A:  (more of an ots tip kaya naging 3) - learn to appreciate the beauty of nature with or without a camera.  sometimes we get caught up with freezing a particular scene or taking too many & all shots possible that we fail to just appreciate & "see" as well as experience & absorb the moment. always have a spare battery.  and lastly, carry a ziploc bag or any clean plastic to protect your cameras from sudden rain or splashing water.
