Jelly and Ice Cream went down to the river
But when they got there Jelly started to quiver
It wasn't the weather that gave the Jelly the shakes
But so many swans and ducks and drakes

As soon as they saw them, they came over to see
Just what Jelly and Ice Cream had brought them for tea
Some birds that were flying came into land
Others came up close to look in Jelly's hand

Out his pocket Ice Cream pulled out some bread
And turned to his friend, Jelly and said
"I've got out some bread, now what to do?
You've done this before, I'll follow you!"

"Alright" said Jelly "if you want I'll take charge
Break the bread into pieces, though not very large
Scatter bread far and scatter bread wide
Though don't forget the birds by your side"

Bread went this way and bread went that
Some even just missing a passing cat
When all was done it has to be said
Birds really do like their pieces of bread

When the birds were happy and fed
Ice Cream turned to to Jelly and said
"Jelly I am pleased to say
I'm glad we fed the birds today"
