Jelly and Ice Cream go to the park
They go in the day and not in the dark
They walked by the fence that went around the outside
And saw glimpses of swings, a see-saw and slide

When they got to the gate they opened it wide
Got very excited and ran quickly inside
They went to the benches where the parents sit down
And spoke to a man dressed up as a clown

He said he was there to look after the toys
Ice Cream said "don't you mean the girls and the boys"
"No, the toys are my friends and I look after them well
The girls and the boys are dirty and smell"

Jelly and Ice Cream got the children in a huddle
And told them that the clown was all in a muddle
"The clown has told us that he thinks that you smell
He also so says that you're dirty as well"

"We know that the park won't keep you clean
But saying you smell is rather mean
You do wash, don't you, everyday
Or at least you wash after you play"

Jelly and Ice Cream told the children of their plan
To make the clown a happier man
The children planned to do things kind
To help the clown to change his mind

The boys and the toys marched up to the clown
But he just sat there wearing a frown
The girls arranged flowers that they had just picked
And gave them to the clown in a basket made from sticks

He looked at all of his friends the toys
Now holding hands with the girls and the boys
The clown looked up after a while
Saw the baskets of flowers and gave a smile

"If the toys like the children, then so must I
I know it will be hard so I really must try
It hurts to see clothes not very clean
But that's why your mums got a washing machine"

From that day forth, if you go to the park
Only in the day and not in the dark
If you see a clown that looks in a muddle
Go up smile and give him a cuddle
