A luxury cruise ship sets sail to take a long peaceful cruise upon the open sea. The trip was supposed to last three weeks. However, on the seventh day of the trip a huge storm came rolling in from the east sweeping the large cruise ship off course. The bad luck continued as some mysterious damage was found causing a slow leak. However, since they were off course the cruise ship sent out several distress calls to any nearby ships hoping that one could reach them in time. After a continual day of distress calls it was decided that the passengers and crew would have to abandon the ship in the many lifeboats.

For half a day the people in the lifeboats traveled until they came upon a large tropical island. Docking the lifeboats upon the white sandy beaches everyone piled out happy to be on solid land once again. Immediately people started dialing numbers on their cell phones trying to reach their loved ones. However no signal could be reached and thus the only communication to the outside world had been the last distress signals from the already sunken cruise ship. Throughout the rest of the day the people continue to try their cell phones while others begin to gather large pieces of wood in the hopes of making a signal fire if ever a rescue ship could be seen.

By nightfall nearly everyone had given up on the hope of reaching anyone on their phones. Everyone sat on the beach staring out at the open ocean hoping to see the lights from a ship. Later and later it got until it seemed noone could hold their eyes open any longer. They all lay in the sand sleeping soundly as the night wore on. It started with a twitch in some people, others seemed to shake violently. One by one the survivors of the cruise ship began to change at a rapid pace. Ears, tails, fur, whiskers, fangs, claws, and hooves replaced the normal features of a human until finally nothing but a large group of animals replaced the humans that once lay upon the beach.

When morning came and the once humans awoke utter confusion broke upon the beach. The animals awakened and looked upon themselves with shock. Their minds were still human but their bodies were no longer as they had been. Almost instantly the commotion hit a new peak as they began to find their voices. Those that were alike were able to talk to one another while those different understood nothing. After the initial shock the individuals from the cruise ship calmed down to a point hoping that this was simply some bad dream they would all wake from.

However they never awoke from that dream and as the days wore on other strange events began to happen. Instincts began to creep in at the edges of their minds and in weak moments these instincts took over leaving their human mind behind. For those that chose to allow these instincts to take hold life became much easier but for those who struggled and fought with their instincts life was much more difficult. Eventually, however the human mind melded with the instincts in all the people from the cruise making life much easier and their worries soon disappeared.

Two weeks from the time the cruise ship sunk and the people reached the island a rescue ship came upon the island and soon began a search. Though they found remnants of the humans they found no survivors. All day they searched until night fell and it was decided that the rescuers would spend the night on the island and continue their search elsewhere in the morning. However little did they know that when morning came they would not be as they were�
