Boston University
It's just like Girls Gone Wild!!! ... Only not porn
I'm still workin on this section since i'm still relatively new at this place. BUT im gettin there.
First, orientation was awesome! I had so much fun staying awake until the sun came up every day and meeting such awesome people.
The following are some things I learned at orientation:
*There is a creepy, evil man that takes your money in front of Burger King. It's probably safer never to walk by there EVER for any reason.
*Riding the T at night allows you to meet the most intriuging people...
*It is really easy to break down the doors in Warren Towers - if you aim your body at them just right [Note: you don't need a running start, just throw your shoulder into it]
*The cheapest thing in the Gucci store is a bandana... for $80.00.
*You are NOT, for ANY REASON permitted to play with balloons in the mall. The security guards WILL remove you and "your party" from the area.
*You don't have to be 19 to get into the 19+ clubs. All you need is a college ID. If you're a girl, it doesnt hurt to flirt with the bouncers.
*The guest policy is way harsh but there's not much you can do about it.
*B.U. is a VERY diverse community.
*The bathrooms in Warren Towers have bath tubs (I fully plan on starting a "bath tub awareness campaign")
*Coins are relatively easy to throw down the stair wells. Doughnuts and bottles, on the other hand, are slightly more difficult.
*I can make card houses (who knew!?)
*Mike's Pastries is good eatin'
*You can stop three lanes of traffic with a loaf of bread
*There are loaves of bread in existance called "stubbies" - which, I might add, are also damn good eatin'
*My student advisor, Chris, would look really hot with long dreads and a bandana
*They say "wicked" in Boston
*The guy to girl ratio is approx 75 - 25 ... could those odds SUCK any more??
*Brookstone has vibrating chairs which are the most relaxing things ever invented by man - you could live in that store.
Things I've Learned Since Coming to B.U.
*With few exceptions, MIT and Harvard frat parties totally blow
*Boston College and Bentley, on the other hand, have slammin parties. Plus they have football teams and we don't.
*Northeastern has way better parties than B.U. too
*Northeastern, B.C., and Bentley boys are waaaaay hotter than B.U. boys (with of course a few exceptions)
*Dropping the right names can get you into any party
*B.C. doesnt have frats or sororities.
*Boston is definitely NOT a small-scale New York City
*Everyone here listens to techno... consequently few people know how to really dance
*If you play your cards right, and your a girl, you dont have to pay
*Generally speaking, any party in the dorms which is of relatively large scale WILL get busted
*Dont walk into the dorm halls holding booze. It's common sense, seriously
*It's generally faster to walk to your class than wait for the T.
*It's not like high school where upperclassmen treat freshman like crap.
*There are many schools within Boston U. such as CAS, CGS, ENG, COM, SMG, etc. They are all equally a part of B.U., but some school are definitely more equal than others.
