Just as you build a foundation for your house, you will need a foundation for your spirit. Let�s look at the following scripture to explain why. Matthew 7:24-27 �Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.� You put a basement (foundation) in your house before the walls go up. It�s the same with your spiritual life � you need a foundation to get through the storms of life (by trusting in God). God has a plan and a purpose for your life Jeremiah 29:11 �for I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope� The foundation for your life is God�s Word. We spoke about it earlier in Hebrews 4:12 �the word of God is alive and active� Jesus Christ IS the Word. In the Gospel of John 1:1, the bible says �In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.� and in verse 14 �� and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.� Throughout scripture we re shown again and again that it is God�s will for His people to be healed. Some of these references are: Exodus 15:26 �I will not allow any of these diseases to come upon you Psalm 107:20 �He sent His Word and healed them 3 John 2 � my son, above all I wish that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers 2 Peter 2:24 �by His stripes you have been healed Isaiah 53:4-5 �He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Know this, it is illegal for the devil to put sickness on you if you are �in Christ�. (the key is �in Christ). Sickness and diseases start with symptoms and God has given us a way to resist the devil. We can resist sicknesses the same way we resist the temptation to sin.
