Comedians Make Great Points

Back to HOMIES
Hey everybody! How was everybody's summer? Mine sucked! Too short. Now I gotta get used to the "Get-Up-At-7:00am-Everyday" routine. Fortunately, I had time this summer to check out a couple Comedy Central shows and, man, those comedians are way too funny and they make great points while at it.

About a month ago, this Canadian comedian came out to the stage and talked about the song "Ironic" by Alanis Morrissette. This man made very good points. He says that there was nothing ironic about the song and he was right. The song goes, "It's like rain on your wedding day." What's so ironic about that? Unless your husband's a metereologist and it rains there's no irony in the situation. Then there's the part that goes, "It's like a thousand spoons when all you need is a knife." That's not ironic, that's just incredibly stupid! Then the comedian's response was that the knife should only be used to stab the idiot that left all the spoons lying around the place.

Then there was this other comedian from Texas. First he goes on talking about his accent but then he came up with an interesting story of how stupid people bother him. I liked the dude; he sees the world the same way I do. He said that one time he was moving and all his furniture was being carried into the moving truck when all of a sudden, his neighbor comes up and says, "You moving?" "No! Me and my wife just like to take the furniture out of the house every weekend!"

He said that all stupid people should wear signs that signify their stupidity. You just walk up to them and are about to ask them something but then you see the sign and say, "Oh, sorry. I didn't see your sign."

Then he talks about this one guy that designed a shark-proof suit and wanted to test it. The only way to test it? A person wears it, of course! So, apparently, a stupid person would have to try it on. "Here you go, try out his suit." "Here hold my sign for me. I wouldn't want to lose that." I love comedians. They put more sense in this world.

And your thought for the day is, "Should comedians be our psychologists?"
