"In an effort to promote parent participation at our school, our School Council has sponsored evening speakers on Bullying, Differences in Gender Learning, etc. This year we want to have a Family Math Night, in which families visit stations explaining different math principles (ie - volume, etc). Has anyone done this before? Do you have any suggestions? Please let me know ASAP."
Can you help this School Council member? If it helps in your response this school is located in Toronto. Please, email your comments/suggestions of assistance and they will be sent to this member and included on this page.

"Hello, I would suggest that you first contact the Curriculum Coordinator for Math in your Board. They usually have participated in events such as this before. Also, educational aid suppliers such as Scholar's Choice also offer assistance in setting up these events. I would urge you to contact both of these resources as soon as possible. There is no point in trying to "reinvent the wheel", so take advantage of their expertise. The schools in our Board that have held family math nights were pleased with the assistance they received from both our Math Coordinator and Scholar's Choice. Hope this helps and good luck with your project. I think you will find it worthwhile."
