The following are possible ideas for the experiment: Radiochemistry - Use of radioactive materials.
Electron microscopyX-ray crystallography Microwave crystallography Gas chromatography Ionisation of gases Chemical reactionsOptical experiments on various sources Photoelectric effectOptical spectroscopy Ideas currently under development: 1. Photoelectric effect Measurement of planck's constant and the work functions of several materials. 2. Microwave crystallography Using microwaves to measure Bragg's angle for different crystals and to discover the crystal structure. I would also like to include a webcam with the experiment so that students could view the experiment while it happens, rather than just watch some numbers appear on their screen, thus making it more interesting and believable. Thank you to Emma Williams, Ian Martin, Dr Richard Pendarvis, Anthony Dawson, Newman Burdett and Dr Hugh Cartwright for their ideas and suggestions so far. Also thank you to those who have offered their services to test the experiment when it is up and running. = Idea not feasible = Idea being developed |
