The Secret of Happiness


There are some rules which kept you will be happy all your life, and you will make others be happy as much as you can:

Rule 1: You should not have thoughts related to past or future feelings, sensations of yours. (Thoughts should belong to the field of logic and logical conclusions).

Rule 2: Feel your sensations intensely at the moment they occur. (Don't let thoughts on future or past feelings diminish them).

Rule 3: Be confident that if you keep 1. and 2. life will show you what is the thing you should choose so that you keep the golden middle way from any point of view. You just have to think intensely when you think, and choose the way that logically keeps you on the golden way.


further explanation to Rule 1.: thinking on what you had felt in the past is either nostalgia or regret. None of them is living. Both of them is being dead. Thinking on what sensations you could get in the future (if you did this or that) is daydreaming, which is being dead again. There is no benefit in doing so.

explanation to Rule 2.: Our minds get sensations from everywhere. A lot of these sensations come from the outside world like when you hear or feel something with your skin, and there are also some coming from your body like when your muscles are feeling their position and some come as feedbacks from your brain, like when you are tired psychologically. Keep feeling these sensations intensely and don't let them being masked by thoughts on concrete feelings, sensations as discussed in 1. Being able to feel the sensations intensely being always open to these sensations and feelings is the only way of living a full life, the only way of being PRESENT at the very moment. This way you can really hear what people "tell" and not what you "want" to hear. This will bring you the real world not distorted by the mirror of your desires and regrets.

explanation to 3.: The most probematic thing in life can be making decisions in all the moments of life. The decision should be made based on thoughts that don't include thoughts referring to sensations of the past or of the future. The premises should be real things (not lies to yourself), the decision can be made based on precise calculation. Intuition also can be used if one knows that he/she is not fooling himself/herself by desires and regrets and that this "intuition" is not a bluff of his/her mind full with thoughts on future or past feelings, sensations. )

Just keep yourself to these rules. First they will be a little bit hard to keep and sometimes will seem not working. But only a few times. Then these suspicions will disappear and all the things will get meaning. It is good if you come back here from time to time reread these three rules, so that it turns intuitive. You can also post these rules and the link to this site on forums where you find people discussing the topic of happyness. This way these simple rules can be spread to the benefit of more and more people.
