| WILLOWBROOK WELL He came away Early the next morning from Willowbrook Walk The Sheriff took Willowbrook Trail With blood on his hands Off Willowbrook Walk And no way to talk And followed it to the well They cut out his tongue There were some signs of trouble So he couldn't tell But nothing to indicate What he had seen The injustice that was witnessed At Willowbrook Well Last night of late But he was smarter than they The Sheriff threw a rock And he thought real hard Then stood stock still And he found a way He never heard a sound To show us his scars The rock made no spill He had taken a walk He hollored for a flashlight Down Willowbrook Trail And shined it in the well Not his normal way And there in the water But he'd picked up this smell The little girl from the tale He knew it was odd She had a little Teddy For he was here everyday Some idiot thought to shoot Old water and peppermint And the thing that started it all Is what led his way A handfull of peppermints by her boot The old water was normal He never spoke again The peppermint out of place To a soul after that day When he got to the well The evil men that put her there Tears came to his face Have since been made to pay They were holding her down To this very day Maybe seven or eight The story still goes What they were doing For many a people He couldn't relate Have seen her poor ghost Suffice it to say Take Willowbrook Walk He moved to run Down Willowbrook Trail There he was caught It won't be very hard There he lost his tongue To find the well You won't need a map To WillowBrook Well Just wait for the wind And follow the smell Terry L.
