Mobile Madness

Chapter 1
"Hi, everyone!" Frankie shouted as she struggled through the door. She had just come back from shopping trip with Hannah and was carrying about million bags in her hand. All of the Juniors were sitting in the living room of their flat in London. Frankie stumbled to the nearest sofa and dropped her bags.
"Got anything for me?" asked Jay. As soon as Frankie had put down her bags, Jay started rummaging through them.
"Oi!" yelled Frankie. "Keep out!"
"What did you get?" asked Daisy, who was curled up in the armchair, reading a magazine.
"About a hundred lipsticks, a thousand shoes and a million pairs of trousers," answered Hannah. Unlike Frankie, she wasn't a shop-a-holic. She had only come back with one small bag. "And I got some earrings." She held up some small, gold cat earrings. "Do you like them?"
"Their beautiful," sighed Stacey.
Frankie sat herself down on the sofa. "Who wants to see my stuff?"
"Ummaybe later. We've got dinner in three hours. " joked Aaron.
"Well, I'm going to go to my room and try on my new make-up. Anyone coming with me?" Frankie asked.
"I'll come," Stacey told her.
Frankie and Stacey went out of the living room and to the girls bedroom. Frankie flopped on her bed and moaned.
"Shopping really tires you out," she said.
"Yeah, I'm going shopping with my new boyfriend, Tom, tomorrow." replied Stacey.
"You've got a boyfriend? Am I the only girl who's not got a boyfriend?"
"You'll find someone," Stacey reassured her.
Stacey sat on her own bed. "Lets see what stuff you got then."
Frankie started emptying bags of make-up onto the floor. When she finished she looked down at the pile.
"You know, I really need to stop spending so much!"
"We've been trying to tell you that for months!" Stacey jumped off her bed and looked at all the make-up. "This stuff is really nice."
Frankie sat down next to her. "Lets try some on," she suggested.
"Ok," Stacey agreed.
So, for the next half an hour they tried out Frankie's make-up and her new clothes.
Chapter 2
Rochelle decided that she wanted to try on some of Frankie's make-up too, so after dinner Stacey, Frankie and Rochelle went back to the girls room.
"Wow, you got a lot," said Rochelle. Just then her phone beeped to let her know that she'd got a text.
"It's Brian. He's so sweet. He texts me every day when I'm not home." Brian was Rochelle's new boyfriend and ever since she had got a mobile he'd been texting her non-stop.
Suddenly, Frankie got an idea.
"Hey!" she jumped up. "I've got a great idea on what I can do with my money. I can buy a mobile phone!"
"What a good idea!" agreed Stacey.
"We can go into town tomorrow and get one," said Rochelle.
"Again?" Frankie asked.
"Only for your mobile," Rochelle told her. "Then we can come back."
"Okay. But I've got to admit, as much as I love shopping, it does wear you out," said Frankie.
Stacey and Rochelle agreed.
Chapter 3
The next day, before the girls went into town, they had to do some studying. They used the dining room because it had a large tale and plenty of chairs. Their new tutor, Jenny was very strict and liked the room silent so they couldn't talk, but that didn't stop them having fun.
Rochelle was playing games on her mobile, hiding her phone under the table, Hannah was drawing pictures of cats on her note pad, Jay and Calvin were seeing who could blow the biggest bubble with their gum, Daisy copying Hannah's homework, Aaron was making a paper aeroplane while Frankie day-dreamed about her new boots that she had brought the day before.
"Oi, Calvin!" Aaron whispered across the table. "What colour should I make this aeroplane?"
Calvin looked up to answer Aaron but it was too late.
"I said no talking!" Jenny told them.
"Sorry," mumbled Aaron.
She's so strict, thought Jay, we can't do anything in her classes!
Meanwhile, Daisy finished her homework. She really wanted to talk to Rochelle, but she was at the other side of the table.
I'll text her, decided Daisy, that will be more fun. And I know she's got her phone on.
Daisy reached into her left pocket, where she always kept her phone, and felt around for it. She couldn't find it so she searched her other pockets and her bag, but it wasn't there.
Maybe it's in my room, she thought, as she put up her hand.
"Daisy?" Jenny said, noticing Daisy's waving hand.
"Can I go to the toilet please?"
"Ok," Jenny answered. "But be quick." She warned.
She got up and went straight to the girls bedroom. She searched through all her stuff but still couldn't find it.
Okay, she said to herself. Where did I have it last? In my pocket?
She looked again. But she just found some old scraps of paper and some chewing gum wrappers.
Daisy sat down on her bed to think. Let's see, yesterday I was playing with it at breakfast. Then I went to the park with Calvin. Then I phoned Rochelle. And then we saw Jay and we ran over to him. Oh no! That means I must have left it in the park!
Chapter 4
While Daisy was panicking about her mobile, Rochelle had also managed to get herself into a spot of trouble.
She was about to text Brian when someone clouded over her, making her jump and drop her phone. Jenny, who was standing behind her, leant over and picked it up.
"You don't need this in my class," said Jenny. "In my class, you need to be working."
"But Miss" Rochelle stammered.
"Why were you using it in my class anyway?" Jenny interrupted.
"I thought there was a fire and I needed to call the Fire Brigade." Rochelle thought that was a good excuse. Everyone was laughing except Jenny.
"Really?" said Jenny. "If there really was a fire, which I gather there's not, then who should you tell?"
Rochelle smiled. "The Fire Brigade." Every one laughed again.
"Right, I think you need to be punished," Jenny told her. "I will take your phone away for two weeks and if you dare be smart with me again then you'll be in even more trouble. Understand?"
Rochelle watched her as she made her way back, clutching her phone in one hand.
Thank god we've got three tutors, thought Jay. And we've only get this witch twice a week!
Chapter 5
The next day, all of the girls went into town with Frankie to get her mobile.
Daisy had told them about her missing phone and they were going to stop at the park and check in the lost property box that was kept in the little office, by the toilets in the park. Someone kind and generous may have handed it in. Or a thief may have stolen it.
"I like this one," Frankie said as they arrived outside the shop that sold phones. She pointed to a big phone with a purple cover.
"That's an old one," Stacey pointed out. "You want the latest one."
"Why?" asked Frankie. "Any phone will do."
"At least you will have a phone. Jenny took mine away. Now I can't text Brian. I'll just have to phone him, instead," Rochelle sighed.
"Two weeks! Can you believe it?" Hannah said. "That's ages. You should try and get it back before then."
"How can I do that?" Rochelle wondered.
"Sneak it out of her bag," Stacey said. "She still has it in there."
"Yeah, get one of the boys to do it," suggested Daisy, who was still looking upset.
"That's a good idea," Rochelle said.
"We can do it tomorrow when she's tutoring us," said Frankie, still looking at all the phones in the window. "Can we go and get a phone now?"
The girls went into the shop, still discussing how they could get Rochelle's phone. After spending an hour in the shop, Stacey finally persuaded Frankie to buy the latest. When she had finished they went to the park to look for Daisy's phone.
They asked the man who was in the office, but no-one had handed in a mobile within the last week.
"Now what am I going to do? I need that phone. If I don't get it back, I'm going to be so bored in classes," moaned Daisy.
I really need my phone back, thought Daisy.
The girls sat down on the nearest bench.
"Don't worry Daisy," Hannah comforted her. "It'll be okay."
"You could buy a new one," suggested Stacey.
Daisy slumped in her seat. "How? I've got no money."
Chapter 6
"Do you have any phone numbers that I can have?" asked Frankie. All the girls were lounging about in the living room after the shopping trip. Frankie was on the floor trying to work her new phone.
"You can have mine," Hannah said.
"And mine," said Rochelle.
Everyone gave her their numbers except for Daisy. She had no phone number to give.
"Have you tried ringing your phone. You might hear it go off," Frankie suggested. She got up off the floor and sat next to Stacey.
"Yes," she said. "I did that last night."
"Maybe you should report it to the police," said Hannah.
"Yeah," Daisy agreed.
Her, Hannah and Daisy went off to report the phone and left Frankie and Stacey in the room.
"I have an idea" Frankie started.
Stacey looked at her. "About Daisy's phone?"
"No about my phone."
"What is it?" wondered Stacey.
"Well, do you have any boys mobile numbers?" asked Frankie.
"Yeahwhy?"
"Well, I'm looking for a boyfriend and if you give me the number of a cute boy then we can text each other," Frankie smiled. "And then we can meet up and if we like each other then we can go out."
"Sounds like a good plan," Stacey agreed. "Let me check my phone."
Stacey flicked through her phone address book. "Well, there's Adam - he's a geek - not your type and Charlie - he dates a different girl every week! You don't want him! How about Daniel? His nickname is Dizzy Daze. He's lovely as well as cute."
"Okay, what's his number?"
Stacey gave her the number. "And he only lives a few streets away."
"Great I'll text him now."
So Frankie texted: Hi Dizzy Daze. I am ur secret admire. Stacey gave me ur number. My nickname is Fun Franx. Please text back.
They waited a few minutes and then he replied: Hi Fun Franx. R u free on Friday? If u r then we can go out. Text back. Dizzy Daze.
"Oh my god! He text me back!" shouted Frankie. "He could actually become my boyfriend! I've got to clear my schedule for next week."
Frankie was so excited that she nearly knocked Hannah over as Rochelle, Daisy and Hannah came into the room.
"I reported it, but they can't do anything unless they find it." Daisy told them she still looked upset.
Frankie waited until Daisy had cheered up before announcing her exciting news.
It was all the girls could talk about until dinner.
