Tying Instructions: 1. Tie in thread at eye. Wrap to bend, tie in sparse tail. 2. Tie in tinsel and wool. Advance thread to 2 - 3 eye lengths behind eye. 3. Wrap wool forward, tie off and trim. Counterwrap tinsel, tie off and trim. 5. Tie in wing, starting with bottom material and working up through wing. Tie in each layer slightly behind the previous layer to maintain a smooth, tapered head. Length should be about even with end of tail. 6. Build a smooth head, finish and cement or lacquer (black). Notes: The bucktail in the tail, throat, and middle wing sections can be replaced with dyed feathers for more movement. I find this replacement to be effective with most streamer patterns. |
