Australian Team Announced For Final

Cricket Australia announced today that the National Selection Panel (NSP) has chosen the following team for the Final of the Online Cricket League v West Indies in Melbourne.

The team is:

1. Justin Langer
2. Matthew Hayden
3. Ricky Ponting (c)
4. Damien Martyn
5. Darren Lehmann (vc)
6. Simon Katich
7. Wade Seccombe (wicketkeeper)
8. Shane Warne
9. Jason Gillespie
10. Michael Kasprowicz
11. Glenn McGrath

(Bowlers: 11, 9, 8, 10, 5, 6)

There are three changes from the team that defeated West Indies in Perth last week. Opening batsman Matthew Hayden returns to the team replacing fellow Queenslander Martin Love whilst NSW paceman Brett Lee makes way for Michael Kasprowicz. Wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has been ruled out of the team with 'flu and his place has once again been taken by Wade Seccombe.

Commenting on the squad, NSP Chairman Trevor Hohns said: "Under normal circumstances we would not be happy making three changes to the team at this stage of the proceedings, but apart from Adam Gilchrist, this is probably the best team that we could have put on the field. We are confident that this line-up will get the job done for us in the final."
