Life in Pearl City, Hawaii:

I moved to Hawaii when I was 3 years old. I went to PCH Elementary, Intermediate, and High School. Throughout elementary and our first year of intermediate, we were teased. Till this day, I still don't quite know why we were picked on. Maybe it was our name, the way we dressed, our ethnicity, or our accent.
My first friend was JoAnne Pastor. My sister Gin and I met her during the third grade. Without her friendship, we would not have made it through our elementary years. If you are reading this JoAnne, THANK YOU!!
However, it got better in high school, especially in the ninth grade: I had so much fun being in the Leo Club and in Track. Leo Club had a great president named Kendall Yamatsuka. He had a way of persuading people to volunteer for the various services he organized for the school year. It appeared to me that, after he graduated, the spirit we had faded.
In track, I appreciated the coaching from Coach Naite. I had the opportunity to know him better during my second season in Track and the following two seasons in Cross Country. What I took away from him was to push for your personal best.
Their were others in Hawaii, in addition to those mentioned above, which made an imprint in my memory. I had established good relationships with some of my teachers at PCHS: Mrs. Hiraoka, Ms. Kiyabu, Mr. Dunford, and Mr. Nagahara. I also had the best of friends at PCHS as well. Hey, Cindy and Haunani, if you ever visit my homepage, I love you gals.

Life in Texas:

Honestly, I have not yet established true friendship here. The teachers here are the worst. They don't have a care in the world for their students and don't seem to have the desire to teach well. In general, Texans are not very friendly, some downright rude and arrogant.
My senior year at Dulles HS was stressful and boring. Graduation, the moment, which many say should be one of the highlights in your life, wasn't anything special to me. I could not graduate with my friends and my classmates that I knew since elementary.
I went to Senior Prom with my brother's best friend, Bob. It wasn't as magical as many have raved it to be, probably because I didn't go with anyone I liked.
I had my taste of being in a relationship with someone I worked with, but the long distance and my parents' objection to me dating out of my race, ended the relationship.

At present, I am attending the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in my second year. I have made new friends in the last year and a half that I have been in the program. I have grown to enjoy learning about drugs. I am planning to pursue a clinical or consulting specialty.
