Dr. Van Groenou's long-standing interest in international health issues drives her passion for women's health and emergency medicine.
Her medical work has included thesis research in rural Mayan villages in Chiapas, Mexico; reproductive and HIV/STI counseling at Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C.; outreach and clinical practice in inner city Philadelphia, Detroit, and rural Quintana Roo, Mexico; and volunteer work with Flying Doctors in Baja California.
After completing her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University, she became the Project Manager for Medical Product Development at MedicinePlanet, Inc., designing innovative health educational materials for international release, covering topics such as first aid, nutrition, sexuality, fitness, wilderness medicine, and travel health.
