Dear Lord,
You speak of love,
  and you love me
   immeasurably.
You preach about forgiveness
   and you forgive me
   unconditionally.
You are compassionate
   and I experience.
   your infinite mercy.

Humbly I come before you,
O merciful Jesus, to ask for your forgiveness
   and the grace
   to forgive others;
for your love
   and the grace to love
   unconditionally; for your compassion
   and the grace to be
   compassionate and gentle.
In all these, Lord Jesus,
I strive to be like you.

Let me be faithful to you
   and to your word.
O Lord, I place my life into your hands
   rule over me as you see fit.

O Lord, you gave me the power
to become a child of God.
If I ever stray from the right path,
if my actions lead me away from you ,
teach to let go of what i want most;
impart to me the readiness
to give up what i most desire;
let me learn from your example
to surrender what i want to hold on to.

O Lord, I implore you most sincerely:
when your teaching
   questions my lifestyle,
When your commandments
   disturb my complacency,
when your holy will
   clashes with my way of thinking,
when your selflessness
   runs counter to the way I live,
it is the most opportune time,
   O sweet Jesus,to give me
   the strenght to keep my faith,
   to grant me the grace to change,
   open my eyes to choose
   and embrace you alone.

When difficult moments come,
   when the cross becomes
   too heavy to carry,
when trials beset me...
   Let me think of you,
   Let me talk to you,
   let me cling to you,
   Let me depend on you,
   Let me seek you
   let me rest on you,
O sweet Jesus!

Speak to me then, O Lord,
your consoling words:
"Come to me, all you who labor
and are burdened,
and I will give you rest."
