To Build the Pyramid

Shango left the meeting room feeling surprised at the choice of Admiral Watanabe's selection of Captain Olokun as the leader of the expedition to Planet Ile. He was a Vice-Admiral. As the Head of the Electrical Systems Group, He had a say in the feasibility of any space voyage. Energy was the prime requirement of any space ship.

He slowed down outside the corridor to have a brief conversation with Olokun, "So, you are heading back to the Ancestral Planet? Are you sure you don't need some manly protection, he teased, winking?

"Keep your manliness to yourself and help me get a powerful space craft for my trip", Olokun retorted

"Ah, well, you have to discuss that with Vice-Admiral Ogun, the Chief Technological Officer of the Interstellar Navy .

Ogun had been in charge of Design and Development, because he had the ability to join together diverse components of space travel machines: telecommunications, mechanical structures, energy, computing, life support and weaponry.

"A Class B ship will be okay for you. It meets the standards of Relativity and it can locate points of antimatter to travel through time, if necesary. It was still a debate back at the Academy on the effect of high speed space travel. Commander Orunmila travelled in a Class C ship. He wanted the advantage of its versatility in different weather conditions.

"I hope Orunmila will remember to move to the Land of the Pharaohs for his next assignment. He seems to be enjoying the company of albino tribesmen; and women. He likes their freezing cold weather".

The Palm Tree Planet government intends to  set up an Embassy in Kermit. Their Pharoah is quite receptive to our assistance in designing complex pyramidal structures for his domain.

“And who is to be the Ambassador", Olokun asked?

“Well,  The Ruling Council has approved the appointment of Atahunava, the Architect of the Large Pyramid.

“Mmhh”, not a bad idea.”.  Atahunava had been successful in getting the cooperation of the Pharoah to allocate land. Initially there was resistance to the choice of an expatriate, extraterrestial architect to design the tomb of the ruling Pharoah. But with the help of some biochemists he displayed some inventions which seemed like magic to the Pharoah's Court.

"Now, tell me, Shango, what will be the best way to approach Ogun. You know that he could be quite officious with requests for space ships. I would also like a 2-seater jet-propelled vehicle. The people will most likely see it as a Chariot..."

"...of Fire" , Shango teased.

"By the way, my dear Olokun, the Pharoah's diviners are predicting that one day, the name of Kermit will be changed by mullato invaders from the North to .. Egypt"
