What is 4Kids? Well it's an evil corpration that takes some of the best things out there and turns them into 99% CRAP! Some of things that they f***ed up would inculed: Yu-gi-oh, Shaman King, Sonic X, and Pocket Monsters.
Why they make these good things and make them pure crap so that not even a 4 year old would like? I have no idea.
For those that think is the best thing to ever happen, please, read what I have to say.
I will use YGO as an example on how much they F*** up the stuff.
Story
In japanese the story in Battle city is to kill the Spirt of the Pharo (3000 years after he was imprisoned in the God Puzzle). The reason they want to kill him is because a young man named Malik wants revenge on him because he thinks that that the pharo killed his father.
In english, however, Malik (now called Marik in english) wants to take the Puzzle and the other golden idems so he can take over the world.
As you can see, the english story is way to overdone and stupid to change to. In fact, it makes new plot holes (which were very few before). For example, when bakura and malik meet up Malik wanted the God cards in order to take over the world, and he would hand over his "golden idem" in order to get a god. You see, this creates a new plot hole. If he needs the Idems to take over the world why would he even bother with the god cards?
Charaters
OMG, this is one of the most annoying changes. Every person is changed, I'm not kidding.
Lets just make a List...
Japanese...
Yugi Moto: a teen that's trying to build up his courage.
Seto Kaiba: A total Badass. He can stand up to anything, even death. Thinks of Yugi as a Friend/Rivel
Honda: A normal teen that trys to hit on the gals. Used to be in a gang so he can actualy fight
Anzu: Another teen, the girl of the group. Hopes to go to New York and learn dance.
Jounouchi: Also in a gang, Has a big crush on Mai
English...
Yugi Moto: a 10 year old boy that won't shut up and who's voice is still pre-pubescent
Set Kaiba: JACKASS!!! A huge Idiot. Hates everyone except for his brother.
Tristen: They didn't mention he was in a gang. Not so insalting or threting ass before.
Tea: Hopes to dance, but not the same way as before. No real reson for colecting the money anymore...
Joey: A guy from New York with pathic insults. And doesn't like Mai
Wow, they took the coolest person and made him a asshole. This not only gives me a head ach but kills any respect I have for the charaters in english.
Names 'n' stuff
From reading what I just wrote you now know that they change many of the names. But it gets worse. They Don't allow anything that has to do with relgion. In other words no demons, gods, angles, heven, underworld, aunks, horns (don' ask me why), or crosses. Oh, and nothing that has to do with death! No Death, dead, kill, die, murduer, or anything of the sort.
Next is balck to dark. Black hole to Dark Hole, what the heck is a DARK hole?; Black and wight cat changed to Dark-cat with a wight tail, WTF?! What are they smoking! It's A F***ing BLACK cat! HOW IS IT DARK?!!! Also, we know that it' a black and wight cat, you don' have to tell use where it's wight!; Black Magician to Dark magician, well, mabey it has to do with BLACK magic. But that's what he uses; Now this is a Stupid one, Black Dragon to Pitch-Dark Dragon. First off, Pitch-Dark makes no sence (Pitch-black does) and why change a simple name to a crap one?
Lets talk about really bad changes now; Emassary of obliteration to Nobleman of Crossout ...where to start... lets just say that it now sounds bad (I don' want to get into that one); Saint Dragon - God of Osiris to *sigh* Slifer the Sky Dragon. My god, what the hell? Osiris is 10,000,000,000,000,000 times better that Slifer. And I don' want one of my favoret cards to be named after Roger Slifer that works for 4Kids; Elf Swordsman to Celtic Gaurdian, I have no idea why they changed his name. X-E-N-O to Joaws of the darkness, um... no; This is a bad one too, Nosferatu Lich to Fusioh Richie, ya, I see it too. Richie doesn't sound threating at all, infact, it sounds like a history teacher that I had once. She wasn't threating eather...
Well that was a long example wasn't it?
But thats about 1/10 of what they mess up in ONE show. So any of you who were Pro-4Kids I hope your now Anit-4Kids. Peace out.
