Instructional Strategies

  1. Discuss with pupils the story they have to write using given guidelines (Pg 61 of

PETS Coursebook 6B)

  • What was the animal?
  • Where did you find it?
  • Describe the state of the animal when you first found it.
  • Why did you take it home?
  • How did you care for it?
  • Describe the animal after you have looked after it for some time.
  • What happened after that?

 

2. Tell pupils that they are going to use the CD-ROM to write their story

3. Demonstrate to pupils how to switch on the computer, load the CD-ROM and

use Creative Writer for their task.

 
  1. Ask pupils to work in pairs to type out the story.
  1. Show pupils how to use the Speller and Replacer features to edit their work.
  2. Ask pupils to read their second draft and to save their work..

7. Ask pupils to print their work for teacher’s assessment.
