It is a story where the words read out are
highlighted. The spider moves with the
positions mentioned.
It allows the pupils to move along with the
spider and the cyclist, Sue.
The instructions and cues given are very
clear and user friendly.

Learning Support Room with maybe five multimedia computers.
Instructional Strategies
- Teacher to introduce and read the book, ‘ Spider’ by Gavin Bishop.
- Pupils to read the story using the Sunshine CD-ROM Collection Vol. 2. Pupils to click on ‘ Spider’ to start the reading. Pupils need only to follow the instructions and prompts given to move on. Inform the pupils to note the directions taken by the spider.
- Pupils are guided to practise using the six prepositions which were used in the story . The six prepositions used were : along, through, down, across, up, onto, from, to.
- Pupils are to click on the preposition to help Sue in the race. The same six prepositions are used.
- Pupils to write their own story with prepositions included. The story can be printed out by clicking on to the printer which will appear after the story is written.
- To introduce the song ‘ Where’s the Duster? ‘ to include all the prepositions not mentioned in the CD-ROM.
- Pair or group pupils to ask and answer the questions. Refer to the song sheet.
- Pupils to do the worksheets on prepositions. Worksheets are of three levels of difficulties. Choose the one / ones most suited for different individuals
