Instructional Strategies:
1 Teacher will introduce lesson with "Wide World of Animals" to show pupils
snapshots of
a: the basking shark,
b: blue shark,
c: hammerhead shark,
d: tiger shark,
e: great white shark,
f: mako shark and
g: whale shark.
2 Pupils will follow these instructions to complete worksheet:
a: Launch the reference CD-Rom of Random House Kid’s Encyclopedia
b: Click "Short Cut"
c: Click "Factory"
d: Click alphabet S
e: Scroll down to "Sharks, Skate and Ray"
f: Listen and follow the text.
g: Click on "more".
h: Click on each of the sharks named in the worksheet.
Find the information required in the table from the descriptions.
Complete the table.
3 Pupils will hand in worksheet and exit from the CD-Rom.
