Pupils are able to create simple pictures using Crayola Art Studio 2

Specific Instructional Objectives

Pupils should be able to :

  1. Identify paintings in the pointillist style.
  2. Use the crayon tool in art studio to experiment drawing pictures with dots.
  3. Realise that using dots to make a picture is not easy at all.

Instructional Strategies

  1. Show pupils a series of paintings. Get them to share their perception and opinions of the pictures shown.
  2. Teacher give a simple guide to appreciating Renaissance paintings shown on powerpoint.
  3. Pupils to access the courseware Crayola Art Studio 2 and use the crayon tool in art studio draw pictures the way they normally do. Set a time limit for the activity.(5min)
  4.  

  5. Teacher shows paintings of dots done by famous artist (Pointillism) on power point.
  6. Children to share their perception as teacher poses questions.
  7. Pupils to access the courseware Crayola Art Studio 2 and use the crayon tool in art studio to experiment drawing pictures with dots. Set a time limit for the activity. (20 min)
  8. Teacher to go round the lab to guide and help pupils use the tool effectively.
  9. After pupils have finished:

  1. ask them to save their completed work on diskettes
  2. Conclude by telling pupils that painting is a real art. It is not easy to paint. That is why paintings and the artists have such a great place in history.
