Topic : Plants - Lesson Consolidation

 

Pre-requisite:

  1. Pupils understand the need for reproduction in both animals and plants.
  2. Pupils are familiar with the use of a concept map.

 

SIO : Through classroom discussion, group activities and peer sharing, pupils

will :

1) Discuss the importance of plants and reproduction of plants

2) Gather relevant information, given the area of concern, using the

Sparkles Science Series or the Random House Encyclopaedia

3) Construct a Concept Map using Powerpoint

Learning and Teaching Materials:

  1. Courseware : Sparkle's Science Series 5B & Random House Encyclopedia
  2. Powerpoint Slides
  3. Groups' Floppy Diskettes

  2. Paper cups as distress signal

  • Open discussion by getting responses from pupils about the importance of plants.
  • Using the ‘Roundtable’ strategy, pupils are to list areas covered in this topic.
  • The group with the greatest number of ideas will share with the other groups adding on.
