of the passage by answering the literal and

interpretive questions.

Instructional Strategies

  1. Teacher to brief the pupils on how to handle PETS CD Rom.
  2. Teacher to tell a brief story of "Pinocchio" or to ask the pupils
  3. what they know about "Pinocchio" (brainstorming).

  4. Teacher to hand out the comprehension worksheet to the pupils.
  5. At the main menu pupils to click "Read To Me".
  6. At the end of the reading session, pupils to work in pairs in creating their own version of "ending" the story (it should be written on the piece of paper and to be given to the teacher at the end of the lesson).

     

     

     

     

  7. Pupils then return to the Main Menu and click "Learn and Play".
  8. Then click at the "Comprehension" and "Level 1" icons in the sub-menu. Pupils are supposed to answer all the questions that appear on

    the monitor (screen). At the end of this, pupils are to work in pairs

    to answer all the comprehension questions in the worksheet given by

    the teacher.

  9. Once they have finished, they are to return to the sub-menu and click

"Comprehension" and "Level 2" icons. Then answer all the questions

that appear on the monitor.

  1. At the end on the session, pupils are to exit from the programme and

to shut down the computer. Teacher should discuss the questions and

the answers with the pupils. Pupils are expected to hand in their

written assignment to their teacher at the end of the lesson.
