  1. multiply numbers within the multiplication tables of 2,3,4 and 5

b) build up the multiplication facts to memory

c) use rectangular arrays to illustrate multiplication facts

Instructional Strategies

  1. Teacher will give each pair of pupils an envelope which contains 5 sets of flashcards with multiplication sentences written on them.
  2. Using Think – Pair – Share, pupils will write down the answers on the slips of paper given to them.The winner will be the pair to hand in their work first and to obtain the most number of correct answers.
  3. Teacher will get pupils to go to Learn and Explore section
  1. Teacher will check pupils’ understanding by going through the first exercise on how to count the number of buns on the tray after the pupils have it.
  2. Pupils will then do the next exercise where they choose the multiplication tables of
  3. 2 ,3,4 and 5 and use the rectangular arrays to illustrate the multiplication facts they

    have chosen to illustrate the multiplication facts.

    FOLLOW – UP ACTIVITY

  4. Pupils who have finished will then click on the ‘dinosaur’ icon and select ‘Challenge’ to play the multiplication game.
  5. Pupils will then be given a multiplication worksheet to do.
