Introduction

Using the dictionary (Whole Group) - 20 mins

  • To recap some main features of this CD-ROM .
  • Allow pupils to explore the following features :

using the Alphabet Ribbon, Quick Search,

Backtracking and Games Section.
  • Using the Alphabet Ribbon, pupils record the names of zoo animals in WS #1.

Development of Lesson

Vocabulary Building (Pair work) - 10 mins

  • Each pair compare the names of zoo animals

they have located.
  • Each pair share their word list
  • Allow pupils to copy words they have missed out from his / her partner.

Spelling (Individual work) - 10 mins

  • Pupils to complete WS #2. They will refer

to WS #1 for checking and self-correction.

Writing a question. (Pair work) - 10 mins

  • Ask pupils to locate "What do zebras have ?"

in the ‘Guess What’ Session.
  • Use the above format as an example, pupils

think out their own questions.
  • Allow pupils to look up the meaning of words

in the dictionary.

Conclusion (Whole Group) - 10 mins

  • Pupils share with the whole group their versions

of ‘Guess What’.
  • Involve pupils to respond to the questions.
  • Collect pupils’ works and display them in the class display board.
  • Pupils will copy all the names of zoo animals into their Word Bank Book when they return

to the LSP Room.
